Some third parties, including Facebook and LinkedIn, set cookies both when you visit our Website and when you use certain features on our Website (such as clicking ‘Like’, ‘Share’ and ‘tweet’ buttons).  These third parties link the information that they collect through the use of these cookies with the information that they hold about you through your use of their service in order to present you with targeted advertising via their platforms.

You can get more information on how Carlsberg and its third parties ad partners collect and use your information for advertising purposes by clicking the relevant links in the table below.

Local Shared Objects (‘Flash cookies’)

In addition to the above cookies, we use Local Shared Objects, also referred to as ‘Flash cookies’, on the Website. These are used to enhance your user experience, for example, by storing your user preferences and settings, [such as your volume/mute settings, and in connection with animated content on the Website]. Local Shared Objects are similar to browser cookies, but are able to store more complex data than simple text. By themselves, they cannot do anything to, or with, the data on your computer. Like other cookies, they can only access personally identifiable information that you have provided on the Website, and cannot be accessed by other websites. To learn more about Flash cookies or how to disable them, please click here http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/disable-local-shared-objects-flash.html

HTML email web beacons

Our emails may contain a single, campaign-unique ‘web beacon pixel’ to tell us whether our emails are opened and verify any clicks through to links within the email. We may use this information for purposes including determining which of our emails are more interesting to you and to query whether users who do not open our emails wish to continue receiving them. The pixel will be deleted when you delete the email. If you do not wish the pixel to be downloaded to your device, you should select to receive emails from us in plain text rather than HTML.  Some of the pages on the Website may also contain web beacons and allow us to count visitors who have viewed our pages. They allow us to develop statistical information about the activities and features that most interest our customers and consumers for the purpose of providing more personalised content. In general, they are not used to access personally identifiable information without your consent.

Use of IP addresses and web logs

We may also use your IP address and browser type to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer the Website and to improve the services we offer to you. An IP address is a numeric code that identifies your computer on the internet. Your IP address might also be used to gather broad demographic information.

We may perform IP lookups to determine which domain you are coming from (e.g. google.com) to more accurately gauge our users’ demographics.

Your rights and how to contact us

Your rights

If the legal basis for processing your personal data is consent, you may at any time withdraw your consent by sending an email to kundeservice@carlsberg.dk. If you choose to withdraw your consent, Carlsberg may no longer process your personal data based on consent.

Under certain conditions, you may have the right to request further details on how we process your personal data, including receiving a copy of your personal data. You may as well request that we correct, update or erase your personal data. Further, you may request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, just like you can object to us processing it, or that we use it for automated decision making, incl. profiling. Finally, you may request that we transfer your personal data to you or a third party (data portability).

Please note that these rights are subject to certain exemptions and may not all be available in the country in which you are based. I.e. Carlsberg is not always obliged to take actions on a request. This might be due to obligations imposed upon Carlsberg such as other legislation requiring Carlsberg to retain personal data, the rights and freedoms of others, or the like. Carlsberg always does its outmost to carefully evaluate every single request and will provide the reasons if actions are not taken.

If you wish to exercise your rights, you can contact us by sending an email to kundeservice@carlsberg.dk.

If you have any queries that cannot be clarified as a result of internal dialogue with us or you wish to file a complaint you can contact the local data protection authority in your country.
